Night Updater can never forget about this case. It's among stories that really shocked Night Writer when he was yet in high school. It started when his grandma became paralyzed so that he needed to accompany her at her place. Night writer slept in a bed right across from his grandma's. That went on for nights. Then it happened!
All lights were off and it was extremely dark. Night Writer had fallen asleep when he heard his grandma whispering at him to wake up. He asked why and the grandma says, "There's a man walking right in front of us." She was referring to the 2-meter width aisle that separated us. "What?" I almost shouted. What did she mean right in front of us? You mean, someone was there walking in the pitch blackness? He couldn't move a muscle! What was he gonna do? Run?
"Open the lights," grandma suggests. So he stood up and opened the light, ready to see a ghost--probably the ghost of his grandpa visiting her grandma. Click! Nothing. It was a great relief. Night Writer heaved a sigh. "No one here, grandma." She urged him to look in the living room. "The man must've gone out the sala," she said.
Night Writer opened the door and went to the dark living room. He opened the light, but there was no one. Then he saw the front door ajar. The ghost must have gone out of the house to escape, he told himself. A ghost, opening the door? The last time he heard, ghosts just went through walls and doors an didn't need to open anything.
Grossly nervous and ready to fight--whether it was a ghost or a thief--he went out to check the yards. Negative. He went further into the dark mini garden. There, in the roofed swing was his elder brother, drunk. "It's just my brother!" he told himself. He went back to her grandma's and reported the development. But after lying back in bed, he had some second thoughts. How was he sure it was in fact his brother, and not some thief, or worse, some lost spirit? Or, how was he sure that it was not both?
